Organic Budget Basics

Organic shopping

A reason many give for not buying more organic goods is that organic can be more expensive. Here are some ways to save.

  • Shop Local

Even though they may not be officially certified as organic, buy from local farmers who don’t use chemicals.

  • Grow Your Own

Plant your own small organic garden in your yard. Or grow a few vegetables in pots on a small porch or in a window box. The kids can join in the fun by helping plant the gardens and watching them grow.

  • Save and Store

Watch for sales at your local natural foods market. When an item is discounted, stock up on it.
